چکیده

ABSTRACT Support of multiple data services can be accomplished via code division multiple access (CDMA) with a constant chip rate, but variable data rates. We present exact equations for the cross-correlation of codes in a multiple-data rate system, and thus equations for the multiple access interference (MAI) and bit error rate (BER). Previous analysis has found the BER using the mean of the MAI assuming codes are truly random sequences. We show that Gold and Kasami sequences have a cross-correlation with a distribution closely approximated by a Gaussian one, and present confidence intervals to quantify the performance under the random code assumption.

Concatenated Orthogonal / Pn Codes for Ds-cdma Systems in a Multi-user and Multipath Fading Environment1

The crosscorrelation and autocorrelation properties of the concatenated orthogonal/long PN sequence are analyzed. The results are used to evaluate the performance of this new spreading scheme for direct sequence spread spectrum CDMA in a multiuser/multipath fading environment. The channel is assumed to be Rayleigh or Rician faded. The analysis is carried out using two types of receiver: single ...

Performance of multi-code CDMA in a multipath fading channel - Communications, IEE Proceedings-

The authors provide a general investigation on the performance of multi-code code division multiple access (MC-CDMA) over Rayleigh fading plus additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channels. In MC-CDMA, high speed data sources are serial-to-parallel converted to low speed streams, which are further spread by Hadamard-Walsh orthogonal sequences and random codes. Numerical results show that, in a ...

Nonlinear Multiuser Receiver for Optimized Chaos-Based DS-CDMA Systems

Chaos based communications have drawn increasing attention over the past years. Chaotic signals are derived from non-linear dynamic systems. They are aperiodic, broadband and deterministic signals that appear random in the time domain. Because of these properties, chaotic signals have been proposed to generate spreading sequences for wide-band secure communication recently. Like conventional DS...

Investigations of Bit Error Floors for Multi-Carrier Spread-Spectrum CDMA Systems with RAKE Receiver in Frequency-Selective Channels

Abstract | In this paper, a multi-carrier spreadspectrum (MC-SS) code division multiple access (CDMA) system with RAKE receiver is investigated in a multi-user environment. The impact of the non-ideal MC-SS code signal autoand crosscorrelation properties on the system performance is examined. Terms for the probability of bit errors are derived considering these correlation behaviors. Furthermor...

Hybrid local search polynomial-expanded linear multiuser detector for DS/CDMA systems

This work proposed a new multiuser detector for DS/CDMA systems constituted by the polynomial MMSE detector followed by a local search algorithm 1-adapt LS (one-adaptive local search), namely the Hybrid 1adapt-LS-MuD. In order to reduce computational complexity inherent to recurrent computation of the cross-correlation matrix inverse in DS/CDMA multiuser detection (MuD), this work introduces fo...
